We Love Sounds Festival: Canceled for 2011
The We Love Sounds Festival is the renown winter music festival that tours nationally thought the month of June. Showcasing the nation's hottest bands, We Love Sounds performers played to sell out crowds of raucous partiers at every city and venue.
WLS Festival was a full on party with artists like Steve Aoki, who destroyed Australian clubs last with his stage diving antics, and Holland's Laidback Luke, who many say is the unofficial 4th member of the Swedish House Mafia. We Love Sounds Festival was never short on thrills when groups like Booka Shade, M.A.N.D.Y debuted their full live show and not yet released album to excited partiers.
Unfortunately, the event saw substantial losses and some controversy at the 2010 event and soon after, We Love Sounds Pty Ltd announced as insolvent. The five owners noted that attendance the last year was down at each venue, with the Perth event cancelled altogether.
An over saturation of the festival market bore some responsibility, although some attendees have complained of mismanagement on the part of organizers, pointing to many angry Sydney Ticket holders that were left out in the cold when the venue was declared filled to capacity. Whatever the case, the absence of the We Love Sounds Festival leaves a huge void in the lives of music lovers.
