Moonlight Movie Madness
With blankets for chairs and the night sky as a theatre, the Moonlight Cinema movie festival is undoubtedly a unique film experience. Titles include The Breakfast Club and Monty Python and the event proves to be one of Sydney's most popular summer attractions and an event not to be missed.
The month long Moonlight Cinema festival boasts rare movie watching opportunities in Sydney. Set in Centennial Park, moviegoers enjoy their favorite flicks under the stars with food and drinks in great supply. This year’s film titles include Dirty Dancing, Puss in Boots, and New Years Eve, along with an array of other popular movies.
The Belvedere Amphitheatre in Centennial Park provides mesmerizing views of the Sydney Harbor Bridge and city skyline, making it wildly popular among locals and international movie lovers. For the ultimate viewing experience, New York style food and a full bar will be at the movie watcher’s disposal.
Shows run Tuesdays through Sundays and doors open at 6:30 p.m. Ticket prices range from $14 for children ages 5-15 and seniors to $18 for adults. However, all dogs enter free! Movie showings begin January 10th and go until March 25th. Be sure to buy tickets well in advance because they sell out quickly.
