Picasso Visits Sydney
The Art Gallery of New South Wales commemorates one of the world's most renowned painters, Pablo Picasso, with 150 original paintings, sculptures, prints, and drawings—the largest showing ever held in Australia. The exhibit will provide an unprecedented opportunity to witness Picasso's innovative talent.
This extraordinary exhibit features work from all periods of Picasso’s seven-year career, including the Blue, Rose, cubist, neoclassical and surrealist stages. Gallery director Edmund Capon says, “This is the great Picasso show to which we have often aspired but not yet achiever in Australia. Make the most of it because we will never have such a show again.”
The exhibit was made possible on account of the existing Picasso Museum in France being closed due to renovations. The collection will stop in various cities throughout the world, and Sydney is fortunate to be one of them. This show is a part of the Syndey International Art Series and will indubitably attract many art critics and fans.
Tickets will sell out fast and can be purchased online for $25 for adults and $65 for families of five. Members see the exhibit free and students can receive an educational tour for $7. Some of the paintings exhibited at the gallery can be seen online before the show, but nothing is comparable to seeing the exhibit live. Join art lovers in witnessing this unique opportunity in Sydney.
