Handa Opera on Sydney Harbor
Handa opera presents the romantic and awe-inspiring La Triviata on the Sydney Harbor this March. First-time opera-goers and seasoned viewers will enjoy the recognizable classical tunes performed by some of Australia's best vocalists and instrumentalists, while soaking in views of the nighttime city skyline.
Composed by the renowned Giuseppe Verdi, La Triviata sings of the trials and tribulations of Violetta, a tuberculosis victim, and her lover Alfredo in 18th century Paris. The Handa Opera presents this devastatingly romantic story that has captured the hearts of thousands around the world and will now be played for audiences in Sydney.
The opera will be performed at the Sydney Opera House, located near the Royal Botanic Gardens. From 7 to 10: 30 PM, guests will enjoy late-night views of the shimmering harbor and heart-pounding sounds from some of Australia’s best vocalists. Stunning costumes, elaborate sets, a 9 meter chandelier, and a glistening stage will provide a unique viewing experience.
The opera is sung in Italian, but subtitles will be projected on a screen adjacent to the stage. Attendees are recommended to dress for the weather, but ritzy evening attire is traditionally a staple to the opera viewing experience. Drinks, dining, and travel packages are available for purchase online and tickets range from $85 to $350 each.
